Holed Indium Foils Withstand Temperatures From -273 to 200°C
Over the past few months, in the face of the extremely high requirements of the Nordic customers to develop a new perforated indium foil that can maintain good thermal conductivity and sealing properties under extremely low temperature vacuum conditions, our R&D team has taken the challenge head on, constantly testing and optimizing the formula, and finally successfully developed a new indium seal material that meets all technical specifications.
“After months of hard work, we finally see the results, which is not only an affirmation of the technical strength of our team, but also a recognition of our continued innovation spirit.” Dr. Lin Wei said with emotion, the leader of special Indium R&D team.
During the development process, the team encountered many challenges, including the accurate control of certain impurities in the indium foil, the adjustment of the processing process, and the performance test. In order to keep the project on schedule, the team members voluntarily sacrificed a lot of rest time, sometimes working late the night before and returning to the lab early the next day.
Close teamwork is the key to a successful project. During an important performance test, the team was put under tremendous pressure when an equipment failure prevented the experiment from continuing. At the critical moment, team member Hongfeng Zhang offered to use his spare time to help repair the equipment. With his efforts, the equipment was quickly restored to normal operation and the experiment was carried out smoothly.
In the course of experiments, team members often need to collaborate across disciplines. Xiaojuan Fan, majored in chemistry, and Chao Liu, a material specialty, often have in-depth discussions on the physical properties and processing technology of high purity indium foil and learn from each other’s expertise. This interdisciplinary collaboration not only improves experimental efficiency, but also inspires many innovative ideas.
After numerous experimental verification, the new thermal conductive indium foil sealing material not only shows excellent heat dissipation and air tightness at the extremely low temperature of -273℃, but also passes the reliability test of customers in the temperature range of over 300℃, and has been highly evaluated.
