Bismuth Metals
- Metallic forms of bismuth, including pellets, rods, wires, and granules for evaporative source materials.
- Bismuth oxide forms include powders and dense pellets for optical coatings and thin film applications.
- Bismuth telluride, both P- and N-type, is often used as a semiconductor thermoelectric material in TEC.
- Bismuth expands as it solidifies, making alloys of bismuth particularly suitable for making sharp castings of objects susceptible to high-temperature damage. Bismuth forms low melting points with other metals such as tin and cadmium and is widely used as a safety device in fire detection and suppression systems.
- Bismuth oxychlonide is used extensively in cosmeics.
